UP NEXT, after a rain disrupted end to November, Mickleover RBL are back in county cup action as they travel the short distance down the road to where their last league match ended in victory. This time, they face Mickleover Athletic, from the division below.
With just two matches in November, RBL added two wins, five goals and two clean sheets to their CV. As one of those was in the league, other teams managed to seize the initiative and pushed the Lions down to third spot. The other match was in the last round of the county cup, seeing them progress past Inter Belper.
The Derbyshire County FA Divisional Cup South pits the Lions against their second team from Mickleover in a row, as Mickleover Athletic play hosts at their landlord’s, Mickleover FC’s Don Amott Arena.
Mickleover Athletic come into the fixture on the back of four straight 3-2 victories out of a five in a row winning streak. In their first season in the Central Midlands Alliance, they sit second in the league, losing just once in all competitions so far.
RBL come into this match in red hot form, having won eight matches in a row, scoring thirty three goals in the process and conceding just three times. The last result was a comfortable 3-0 victory over neighbours Mickleover Reserves in the league. Goals for Jordan and Josh Lee and Conor Livingstone wrapped up the points
Mickleover Athletic’s last match saw them host Holbrook St Michaels Reserves. A 3-2 victory saw them sitting second only to Holbrook Sports
